Vision and Values
“Life in all its fullness.” – John 10:10
Inspired by our Christian foundation and the words of Jesus in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full,” our vision is to nurture a flourishing school community where every child and adult flourishes and is empowered to grow spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.
We aim to create a safe, inclusive, and aspirational environment rooted in love, respect, and hope. Our school seeks to cultivate curious minds, compassionate hearts, and courageous spirits—equipping each learner to discover their purpose, develop their gifts, and contribute positively to the world around them.
In partnership with families, the Church, and the wider community, we are committed to enabling life in all its fullness for all.
Our School Ethos and Vision
Our School ethos is underpinned by our core values chosen by our School parliament: Our school vision, summed up in the acronym CARE, shows how we live out this fullness of life every day:
• Courage
Fullness of life means stepping out bravely — facing challenges, trying new things, and standing up for what’s right. We show courage in our learning and in our relationships, trusting that God walks with us.
• Ambition
Jesus’ promise invites us to aim high and make the most of the gifts we’ve been given. At St John’s, we encourage each other to dream big, work hard, and never stop growing — living life to the full through our ambitions.
• Respect
A full life is built on dignity and love. We respect ourselves, others, and celebrate different cultures, faiths, families, traditions and the world around us, knowing that every person is made in the image of God. Respect helps our community thrive.
• Empathy
Living life fully means understanding and caring for others. We listen, support, and include one another, showing the compassion Jesus showed us.
Together, these values help us live out the abundant life that Jesus offers — a life that is rich not just in achievement, but in love, faith, hope and respect.
Our Academy Aims
We plan to move forwards to what we want it to look like, for example:
- We plan to develop partnerships with communities in other parts of the world, and with local organisations of other religions, in order to foster understanding and friendship
- We plan to develop our partnerships with parents and carers, to help people become more engaged in their child’s learning
- We plan to re-evaluate our learning behaviours and values to ensure our children leave able to succeed in the modern world.
We seek to encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of other faiths too along with faith and promote Christian values through the experiences we offer all our pupils.
We welcome diversity and have high expectations for everyone to behave with mutual respect for each other regardless of gender, race, religion or economic background.
We understand the challenges facing our young learners and do all we can to create a culture of understanding, empathy and safety whilst encouraging everyone to uphold the school values.
Our Safeguarding Statement
St John’s CE Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
